European firm seeks partnership with Nigeria military



A leading European-based aviation company, CAE-Aviation, has sought ties with the Nigerian Armed Forces to provide a number of services.

These include full turnkey Airborne Ground Surveillance and Reconnaissance Services (AGSR) to aid flight operations and intelligence gathering, especially in the maritime sector.

During presentation at the Defence Headquarters, tagged Nigerian Defence Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Capability Upgrade Programme, Deputy Managing Director of the company, Luc Audoore, stressed that the company specialised in customised air support.
It offered certified aircraft with crew for gravimetry, bathymetry, magnetometry and other survey operations and adapts its aircraft depending on the customer’s specific needs in terms of survey equipment, endurance, communication and modification.

Audoore reiterated that in the event of collaborating with the Nigerian Armed Forces, the military stands the chance of benefiting in the areas of knowledge transfer through training, maintain and modification of the existing aircrafts, provide image software, help improve efficiency, offer expertise, resources and automated tools.

Defence Chief of Training and Operations, Major General ED Awala, thanked the crew for the presentation and urged them to specifically make similar presentation to the Nigerian Air Force for further deliberation on areas of mutual benefits.

CAE-Aviation's main areas of specialization are AGSR, Aerial Survey Operations, Military Para-dropping and L-3 Wescam Official Distribution/Service Centre/Integration.

AGSR covers border control, maritime survey and pollution control, anti piracy operations, fire detection and monitoring, internal security sand anti-smuggling operations.
