RadarOnline claimed on Friday that Mariah struck up a romance with Brett following her split from husband Nick.
The two previously collaborated on eight music videos, with Brett acting as director, including Thank God I Found You and We Belong Together.

The pair were reportedly flown out to the Caribbean island on Aussie billionaire James Packer’s private jet.
The 45-year-old film director, best known for his Rush Hour movies, has been a shoulder to lean on during Mariah's divorce from Cannon.
A source told Radar: 'Their relationship has progressed in recent weeks and is now very serious.'
In their most recent public appearance, the two were spotted having dinner with Courtney Love in West Hollywood on Sunday.
The trio of friends were active on social media posting a slew of adoring snaps together from their night out.
However, Brett's rep then told People that any report that Carey and Ratner are dating is 'ridiculous.'
'They have been best friends for a very long time,' the director's rep explained to the magazine on Saturday. Which ever way,as far as Maria carey is happy.
