Giving up is a product of discouragement, and as far as you have a project you're working on or a goal you are trying to achieve, at some point, you will feel highly discouraged by so many factors.
I write from experience, sometimes I start a project with very high motivation, then along the line, I get so discouraged with a high feeling or force to quit. But guess what, it is at this point when you strongly want to quit that you're going to make a hit if you don't.
It has happened to me several times. All you need is a different level of motivation at every point of the project you have or about to embark on.
Then you must have a clear stated vision for everything you are involved in, else you will quit. Your thoughts will slow you down, people will discourage you and our economy will cripple you.

But with a clear strong Vision, motive or 'why' statement, nothing will stop you, not even that tiny voice that keeps telling you to let it go and think of something else, that you can't do this, you ain't capable, you are not confident enough to do it, where do think the money to finance it will come from and more... these are the voices we constantly have to fight. That's why some people say the internal enemy is stronger than the external. And the only weapon that can defeat this set of enemies is a strong reason, motive and vision.
These will help you not to quit or give up on your goals and yourself. I go through very discouraging Phases regularly, what I do is take some time off whatever am doing to rest and have a rethink on why I started in the first place, then I definitely will get back the motivation to push on. The reality is, discouragement will come, don't be repressive, don't fight it. Let it. Its OK and normal to feel discouraged, just have enough reason not to give up or quit.
